MySQL DBA

AHM is looking for a strong MySQL Database Administrator that will be responsible for the implementation and support of our MySQL database infrastructure. The MySQL DBA will be responsible for designing and implementing MySQL as well as providing guidance to developers on SQL optimization. This includes installing, configuring, upgrading and monitoring these environments as appropriate, as well as providing overall leadership and expertise to the organization on how best to leverage the MySQL DBMS and related tools and utilities for our development, test and production needs.

Requirements include the following:

• 4 plus years of database administration experience. Two plus years of professional experience administering MySQL would be strongly desirable.
• Experience with MySQL 5.0 and later.
• Installing, configuring and upgrading MySQL database, primarily in Linux environments.
• Experience with working on High availability Production environments and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with replication and clustering
• Designing and managing tables, indexes, stored procedures, partitions, snapshots and their logs, etc.
• Linux scripting and cron
• Working with Java engineers on database design, query optimization, and migration strategies
• Extracting data from SQL Server and Oracle databases
• The ability to write clean, well-written documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Disaster Recovery experiences a plus.
• SAN/Storage skills a plus.
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
