LILUG General Meeting - Tuesday, 9 July, 2002
From Lilug
Meeting Summary
The meeting started about a half hour late after herding folks over to Gleason Hall from Roosevelt, where we weren't meeting!
Speaker
- Chris Knadle - Samba
- LILUG Vice-President Chris Knadle gave a talk and demonstration on Samba - how to configure it, how it works, and some of the issues surrounding using it.
Discussions/Announcements
Eric Raymond at NYPCUG
- Leftonred announced that the New York Personal Computer User Group will be having Eric Raymond as the guest speaker at the Weds. 21 Aug. 2002 meeting.
Next Meeting Location
- The August meeting (and possibly the September meeting) will also be held in Gleason, not Roosevelt.
BSD
- There has been a lot of discussion on the LILUG mailing list in the last few days about BSD. Matt Newhall asked for a show of hands as to how many people would like to hear a LILUG talk about BSD. The vast majority of the members in the room put their hands up. Therefore, it is likely (as long as there are volunteers) that we'll have a talk about BSD at the August meeting.
