- Mark-Jason Dominus from The Perl Journal will be coming to be a guest speaker at our February meeting.

- We have secured a limited amount of discounted LinuxWorld passes for group members.
- We may have a booth at LinuxWorld.
Group Business
Elections
- President: only Matt Newhall was nominated.
- VicePresident: only Ari Share was nominated.
- Treasurer: only Peter Capazzi was nominated.
- Secretary: only Matt Surico was nominated.
- A motion was passed by greater than 67% of those present to waive the election since all posts were non-contested. Therefore, the aforementioned individuals are elected to the aforementioned posts for a term of one (1) year.
Small Group Discussions
- The meeting moved into two groups: one for "newbies" (general topics on Unix commands/environment) and the other to discuss home networks.
