- John Pomeroy discussed web concepts and showed how to configure the apache server.
- Matt Surico - Jserv
- LILUG Secretary Matt Surico followed up with a discussion of how to install Jserv on top of apache. The notes from his talk can be found in PDF format for downloading.
- Dan Deutsche - CTTC
- Dan Deutsche of the CTTC center spoke briefly to get users to write to representatives at Caldera and RedHat and encourage them to come down to the meeting for a discussion that has previously fallen through. Dan provided these two addresses:

- Matt N. mentioned that he has some Linux and other CDs (FreeBSD 4.2, RedHat 6.2, StormLinux).
LinuxWorld
- Our group has a booth at LinuxWorld. Volunteers are needed to work the booth. You can get a 20% discount on your admission if you do.
Next Install Day
- We will be having our next Install Day in Lufton 163 at SUNY Farmingdale on Sunday, 7 January, 2001, at 1 PM. Matt N. hopes we can arrange the Install Day come once every 6 months (i.e., in January and in July).
Hard Drive Tuning
- If you are into Linux performance tuning, take a look at the O'Reilly Web Site, including something called hdparm, which can help you tune your hard drive.
Mozilla 0.6
- Mozilla 0.6 is out, and doesn't crash much more than once per day!

Elections
- The following persons were elected with no opposition:
- Matt Newhall, President
- Ari Shaer, Vice-President
- Peter Capazzi, Treasurer
- Matt Surico, Secretary
Event Coordinator Position
- Matt Newhall proposed, and the group approved, the recommendation that we not attempt to change our group's constitution on the matter of a newly-created position called Event Coordinator. Instead, the group decided to make this an appointed position.
