Discussions/Announcements
Distributing Free Software
- Matt N. discussed how one of the philosophies of our group is getting the free software out to the Linux community and one way that we can do that is by burning copies of the more popular distributions and making them available to anyone.
- Therefore, it was agreed by the membership that the following disks would be made by various members of the group:
- Debian i386: 5 copies
- Debian Motorola 680x0: 1 copy
- Debian PowerPC: 1 copy
- S.u.S.E v. 6.2: 4 copies
- RedHat 6.0: 10 copies
- It was noted that the web pages are starting to change and conform more to access standards.
Macintosh Users Group Presentation
- Matt Surico mentioned that he had been invited to give an introductory talk on Linux to the Macintosh Users Group which meets at the Smithtown Library from 7 PM - 8:30 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. Matt will be speaking there at the June 3, 1999, meeting.
Group Business
Funds
- Matt N. mentioned that the LILUG funds have dwindled to zero dollars. We can be proud, however, of our new coffee pot. With the remaining funds, we purchased 20 blank CDs.
