General Announcements
- LILUG President Matt Newhall mentioned that IEEE has finally ratified a standard for 10G Ethernet over copper.
Speakers
- For this meeting, we had LILUG members give short (~15 minute) informal talks on their favorite Linux software.
Group Business
- OpenSwim 2006 - We are likely to hold this year's version of "Gaggle Of Geeks" at a beach. The tentative date is Saturday, 5 August. By a show of hands, 9 persons voted for Jones Beach as a location, and no one voted for Long Beach. Watch the LILUG mailing list and the website for further information. Like last year, the LILUG government will provide basic essentials (plates, napkins, etc.), otherwise, it's a "pot luck" affair.
