- LILUG member John Palmieri discussed GNOME 2.0, giving a bit of its history and talking about some of the current misconceptions. After the official meeting adjourned, John stayed after to demonstrate several features on the PC he brought along.

- Discussions were had about using xcdroast version 0.98 on RedHat Linux 7.1, issues with starting X and having the video card/monitor reset and with problems with remote access using ssh and X.
