July and beyond meeting topic vote(show of hands). There are 4 people who came forward and volunteered to do a topic. These topics include: cinelerra(making LILUG video), mythtv, zipit, and ha_solutions(ie LVS and haproxy). All of the people who volunteered are LILUG members. This order is the same chronological order in which the volunteers came forth. The entire group on Tuesday could vote on what they want when(without knowing who is giving each topic). ie the most voted for topic goes July, second most August and so on. Or we can do them all in a mini-talk fashion.(whatever the group wants, they can vote)[Matt N organizes this vote]
Hand out fliers to those who want to post them in their school, workplace(cubicle wall?) etc. I'll print out a couple hundred fliers with information about when our group meets what we do etc, and hand them out at the meetings(get my tuitions worth from SUNY Farmingdale). This way people can find out about LILUG who would be interested and didn't previously know about it.[John Teddy speaks about this]
Website possibly moving?(dreamhost) [Mark could speak about this.]
Voting Extension? What is it, how will it help LILUG. Waiting for the website move before voting extension is setup? [Mark again.]
Announce small party on the 100th meeting(May)? suggest to people to bring food? We'll have a cake or something? Possibly donations in the form of food this meeting? Who is our surprise speaker?[Jason could speak about this.]
Setup http://planet.lilug.org , similar to http://planet.debian.org or http://planet.ubuntu.com where people(dev-sig/sisig/general meeting members/organizers) can talk about our LI free software community, upcoming events what speakers are scheduled etc etc.(I'll set it up if need be, should be easy to setup) [I(John) can speak about this.]
Setup government-public@lilug.org where my e-mails can be sent to(and anyone else who wants their LILUG organizational related e-mails to be public), so anyone interested in how LILUG works and how topics are setup can read these archives and learn about LILUG and make it easier for them to volunteer and help the group also. [Matt S speaks about this?]
The room is paid for, it cost $310 USD for a year's rent. donations anyone? [Jason speaks about this.]
501(c)3 status.. any news on that? update the group, possibly ask the group if any of their employers would like to donate to LILUG. [ Jason/Matt S. ]
Ask if anyone would be interested in another gaggle of geeks, or some beach/bbq or something this summer, or possibly earlier.
Show people the videos Ilya(dotcommie) has encoded, thanks him and applaud his work etc.
Mention to people #lilug exists, show them how to get on irc via the web interface Ilya(dotcommie) is hosting.
Create an agenda page on lilug.org for each month? Have the group add things to the agenda, ie upcoming events(dev-sig/sisig/other groups, liphp, lugsb, nylug) so people know more about what is going on in the free software community on LI.
