2007.gov.meeting.agenda
From LILUG
GNU Mailman/phpbb2 mirror, to bridge the gap between the web people so they can participate in our mailing list.(a large majority of people don't know how to use a mailing list, we are isolating ourself from a good amount of people)
flash/archive.org with mediawiki so people can watch videos of past meetings from lilug.org(contact the Farmingdale Videographers group, and be friendly with them)
do gallery postings of every meeting(ask for photographer volunteer), pictures makes our website more personalized and is likely to make it an easier decision for first timers to come to the meetings
planning@lilug.org mailing list/have government meetings
pr@lilug.org mailing list?
get more young people involved, write formal letters to school districts/colleges inviting them to LILUG (just write one letter and spam everyone)
talk with SUNY Farmingdale(dean of business, chairperson of BCS etc, about recommendations for having our rental fee waved), write proposal for this.(we would still pay insurance)
start grant writing for donations(cablevision, CA, Google, IBM, etc. 501c3 is a pre-req for this)
distribute fliers/do USPS mailings of fliers to school districts/libraries.
personally invite people who have ever volunteered at LILUG to be involved.
formalize the meetings more, start meetings a little earlier, more people will be able to come/likely to come back if the meetings start earlier. Don't wait until 8:30pm, people just show up even later if you push the start time back.
have government meetings 30ish minutes before the meeting starts? maybe 7:15pm-7:45pm
Make it easier to find irc from the homepage, many people only physically go to the meetings once they've spoken with someone on irc, and feel comfortable
